Update: We're opening today at 11:30am. No exclamation mark just in case.Update: The power has been restored. Unfortunately we still can't open as there's just too much work to be redone after working in the middle of the night trying to minimize our losses.The power surges also have not been kind to some of our key equipment. Fingers crossed for reopening on Thursday.Update: We will be closed until further notice. Estimated power restoration is 11pm Saturday, October 1. But we really don't know. You'll know when we know. It's the wee hours of Wednesday morning and power was finally restored at the house. Just drifted off into a nice slumber and then several lightening bright flashes followed by ear deafening explosions brought this old guy straight to vertical, while also ducking for cover, in mere milliseconds. A stone's throw from my open window, a transformer exploded like a series of bombs and started burning and dripping melted metal into the woods below. Fortunately it had rained heavily earlier in the day so the fire didn't spread. Thank God the NSP crew working there just hours before had departed.So what's the point of my story? This incident must have been part of a wider problem as it plunged Roadside Willies and a large part of Bible Hill back into darkness once again. All the food lost during the first extended blackout had been replaced and the kitchen brigade spent the whole day prepping for our reopening. We may lose it all again and have to start from scratch for the second time. We will provide an update when we can, but the earliest we can possibly open is 4pm, and that's only if a miracle happens. What a mess and still no power. The safest bet is to tell you we'll be closed until we reopen. Guaranteed. I see our friends at the The Blunt Bartender are serving bevvies on their patio.
